Pick a motor (horsepower and voltage, or kilowatts) and get the NEMA size and the IEC AC-3 rating that cover it, using the published NEMA ICS 2, IEC 60947-4-1 and NEC 430.250 tables. Or start from a NEMA size or an IEC current and see the other side. Then browse real contactors in our catalog that meet the result, by their own published ratings. This compares standards and specs; it never claims one brand's part number equals another's.
How much of each brand's range carries these specs
The catalog matcher can only use values a listing actually publishes. This is the honest coverage, so a brand with few spec values is not mistaken for a brand with no matching product.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between a NEMA and an IEC contactor?
NEMA contactors are sized in standard steps (00 to 9), each rated for a maximum motor horsepower at each voltage and built with generous margins. IEC contactors are rated by an AC-3 operating current, and the motor kW that current suits at 400 V, in finer steps and are usually more compact. Both switch the same motors; the rating basis differs, which is why the two cannot be compared by size number alone.
How do I size a contactor for a motor?
Start from the motor's full-load current on the nameplate, or NEC Table 430.250 when the nameplate is not available. For an IEC contactor choose an AC-3 rating at or above that current at your voltage. For a NEMA contactor choose the smallest size whose horsepower rating at your voltage covers the motor. Then size up for jogging, plugging or frequent starting (AC-4 duty), high ambient temperature or altitude, and check the overload relay range separately.
Is a NEMA size 1 the same as a 32 A IEC contactor?
Not exactly. A NEMA size 1 is rated 27 A continuous and 10 hp at 460 V. The smallest standard IEC AC-3 rating above 27 A is 32 A, which is rated for a 15 kW motor at 400 V. The numbers are close but the rating bases differ, so the manufacturer's own NEMA-to-IEC conversion chart decides whether a swap is acceptable, including overload relay, mounting and auxiliary contact differences.
Does this tool say a Schneider contactor equals an Allen-Bradley contactor?
No. Catalog numbers are not built on a shared cross-brand standard, so a claimed equivalence would be a guess. This tool compares the published standards (NEMA size and IEC AC-3 current) and lists real contactors from our catalog by their own published specs so you can compare them yourself against the datasheet.
Why do I see few Siemens or Schneider contactors in the matches?
Matches come from published spec fields in our catalog: current rating, NEMA size and control voltage. Allen-Bradley, WEG and ABB Low Voltage carry these for many of their contactors. Siemens and Schneider now carry the AC-3 current rating and coil voltage for a large share of their contactors, read from each manufacturer's own published description, but not all of them, so some listed contactors still do not appear in the match lists. Not appearing is not a statement that no match exists. Send us the part number or the motor details and our order desk will source it.
Do these tables apply in Canada?
The horsepower and current tables follow the NEC and NEMA. Canadian installations use CEC Table 44 for motor full-load current, whose values can differ slightly, and the local authority or the manufacturer's Canadian datasheet governs. Treat the result as a starting point and confirm it against the motor nameplate.
Can KKM source a contactor that is not listed here?
Yes. Email the part number, or the motor horsepower, voltage and coil voltage, to orderdesk@kkmsolutions.com. We source per order across our supplier network, not only what is indexed here.
