Prior to the availability of Parker's 12CS/50CS filter series, applications were restricted by limitations of a spin-on can or were forced into the higher cost range of high pressure filters. Spin-on cans disposed of each year in North American Landfills total over 500,000,000! The wasteful can also contains 30,000,000 gallons of discarded residual waste oil, and 250,000 tons of scrap metal. All can waste amounts to very expensive disposal costs and environmental concerns. The need for economical, medium pressure range filters with patented Microglass elements have been met by Parker.
Parker engineers have developed an innovative alternative to the age-old spin-on style can. The Parker 12CS/50CS Coreless Medium Pressure Spin-On Filter Series design provides all of the benefits of high efficiency, long life Microglass filtration, without the negative environmental impact. The new environmentally-friendly 12CS and 50CS hydraulic filters feature a reusable bowl and a patented filter element constructed of reinforced polymer end caps, microglass media, and polymer pleat support. Along with the features already mentioned, Parker engineers have incorporated a unique differential indicator with no external oil ways that also reduces any environmental concerns.
The element core is permanently attached as part of the filter bowl. When replaced, the element reduces costs, eliminates hot drain requirements, can be easily incinerated, and is better-suited for most landfills.
The 500 psi filters are rated up to 50 gpm, with premium Microglass elements as standard offerings. The patented element design also prevents filter operation if the proper element is not in place.
